Gem Mint
A card in near-perfect condition. PSA uses "Gem Mint" for their 10 grade. BGS uses "Gem Mint" for 9.5 and "Pristine" for 10.
Gem Mint describes a card in virtually flawless condition. The term is used differently by each grading company: PSA 10 is called "Gem Mint," while BGS reserves "Gem Mint" for 9.5 and uses "Pristine" for 10.
A Gem Mint card has no visible flaws to the naked eye — sharp corners, clean edges, smooth surface, centered printing, and full original gloss. Minor imperfections visible only under magnification may still be present.
For collectors and investors, Gem Mint condition is the target for modern cards. The price difference between Gem Mint and Near Mint (PSA 7-8) can be 5-50x depending on the card.
